Delux Day Course + Instructional Paragliding Tandem Flight

This course is a fun and exciting day during which we teach you the basics of flying. This is a big day paragliding: training all day, like on our one day course. You will start by learning how to inflate, launch and control a paraglider, while you are initially firmly on the ground. Once that is mastered and you feel comfortable controlling the glider.

You then progress to small flights on one of our training slops. At the start or end of the Delux Day Course you will do your instructional paragliding tandem flights with you instructor.

No experience is necessary, your instructor will show you how to fly and control the paraglider. You will be exposed to the basics of paragliding and learn first hand what it is like to fly like a bird. You will be surprised how easy it is to control and fly.

Instructional Paragliding Tandem Flights

Tandem Paragliding Instructional Flights are conducted at the Flight Park in Queenstown. Queenstown is the adventure capital of New Zealand and it’s the place to go to learn to paraglide.

At Extreme Air we offer you the instructional tandem paragliding experience of a lifetime, for many people a dream come true.  Picture yourself gracefully gliding above the scenic mountains of New Zealand, feeling a light breeze on your face whilst you and your instructor soar over the breathtaking Queenstown basin

Contrary to popular belief it does not involve a leap off a cliff. All you have to do is run a few steps to be airborne. Your instructor can tailor your flight to suit you. Your instructional flight will end after 10 to 20 minutes, depending on weather conditions. You will do this flight at the start or end of your Delux Day course.

Day Course

This course is a great way to see what paragliding is all about. You will learn to fly solo. Your instructor will teach you how to fly in a safe environment and give you the skill to do it yourself.

What to expect: In the morning you will learn about your paragliding equipment, how to clip in to the glider and to inflating and run with the glider. This is called ground training.  You will ground train on gentle slopes close to the ground in the morning and you will start to get weightless steps in as your technique get better. In the afternoon you can look forward to solo flights from our training hill. This is where you will start to fly and feel what it is like to be a bird. It’s one of the most amazing feelings.

Your instructors will guide you through every stage. We will progress you at your own pace. This course will enable you to discover paragliding in a fun environment with highly skilled instructors with many years’ experience.

You may even want to continue onto doing your PG1 or full pilot license course. All days and flight will go towards your PG2 course.
