New Zealand Hang Gliding Tours

New Zealand Tours

Tours are organized from November to Feb, when flying conditions are at their best. We will pick you up at the Queenstown International Airport. Queenstown will be our base for the tour. We will spend most of our time thermaling and soaring in the Queenstown area, over the southern lakes. The views over Wakatipu basin are spectacular. The beautiful alpine resort of Queenstown and its surrounding mountains are scenic and consistently flyable. Enjoy a fun relaxed atmosphere with 2 experienced instructors, who will take you to some of the most spectacular sites in New Zealand.   We have 10 of the best flying sites in the country, all within one hour of Queenstown.   Pilots of all levels can enjoy this tour. We have experienced guides who will pick the best sites for each day. Our tour guides are qualified instructors, with years of experience at all of the sites, and willing to assist inexperienced pilots. Queenstown is known as the Adventure Capital of the world.

Special tours for smaller groups can also be arranged.

Mountain Flying Course/Tour

This course is tailored to pilots keen to experience and learn the tricks and techniques required to fly safely in the mountains.

Two NZHGPA and HGFA qualified instructors will guide you from Coronet Peak in Queenstown and Treble cone in Wanaka. Coronet is an excellent site to build up plenty of air time practicing mountain thermaling. It is an extremely consistent site and the thermals and conditions are often relatively mellow. Treble cone often produces stronger conditions along with cross country opportunities which we will try to take advantage of towards the end of the course.

Breath taking scenery, new site experience, whatever the reason, a Mountain Flying Course is an excellent way of getting many hours air time in some spectacular mountain country.

Intermediate Course/ Mountain Flying Course

This course focus's on getting your intermediate licence. Increasing air time and acquiring the skills needed to pass your intermediate course. Work on top landings, soaring, thermaling and perfecting take-off and landing skills.
